Warren Spillman

October 5, 1993 — July 5, 2015

Warren Barret Spillman was born on October 5, 1993 in Kansas City, MO, to Ward “Barry” Spillman and Alice Michele Spillman. He died unexpectedly at age 21 on July 5, 2015. From a young age Warren’s parents knew he was destined to pursue music. As a toddler, he loved to sit on his Grandmother Jeweldean’s lap while she played the piano. His interest was confirmed by age 8 when he asked his father to teach him two songs on the piano. He memorized the two pieces almost instantly and played them proudly for his mother. From then until his passing, music was the passion of his life. In addition to the piano, he was an accomplished saxophone artist and demonstrated his talents in Kansas City area all-district bands, State music contests, and the All-State Festival Concert Band in 2012.

He graduated from Blue Springs High School in 2012. While there he participated in the Golden Regiment marching band which allowed him to march in three nationally televised parades at the Rose Bowl, the Macy’s Thanksgiving event, and the second inaugural of President Barack Obama. Following high school, he continued his education at the Conservatory of Music at UMKC where he majored in instrumental music and minored in astrophysics. At the time of his death he was assistant manager at Kansas City’s Hookah Haven, where he met Camilla Meneses, whom he promised to marry. He loved animals and had many pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, and ferrets. He was a genuinely happy soul who shared his joy of life with his contagious smile and gregarious manner and could make almost anyone laugh with his considerable comedic skills.
Survivors include his father, Ward “Barry” Spillman (wife Kerry); mother Michele Spillman; his girlfriend, Camilla Marie Meneses; grandparents Pat and Judi Spillman and Diana and David Marr, step-grandparents Bob and Sally Evans; uncles Mark Spillman, Clark Smith, Chris Hoover, and Jason Hoover, and numerous cousins and a whole host of friends.
