Rolland Delos Sprague

July 21, 1911 — October 23, 2006

Rolland D. Sprague, 95, Blue Springs, MO. passed away Oct. 23, 2006 at Wilshire At Lakewood. Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to Children�s Mercy Hospital.
Rolland was born July 21, 1911 to Reuben DeLos Sprague and Rosalie (Morriss) Sprague in Shelby City, MO. He lived in Independence for 26 years before residing in Blue Springs for 41 years. He was a traveling salesman for Knapp Shoe Co. for over thirty years and retired from the Maintenance Dept. of the Blue Springs School District. He was a minister for the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) in Independence. Rolland was very passionate about his ministry. Helping people was very important to him. He was a volunteer for many years at Vesper Hall.
Rolland was preceded in death by his first wife, Jayne Elizabeth (Thomas) Sprague in 1934 and his second wife Marion Olive (Denham) Sprague in 1994. He is survived by daughter Joyce Harris and husband Alvin; son Jon "Jack� Sprague and wife Judy; daughter Janice Welch and husband Gary; daughter Dana Rider; thirteen grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
