Edna Mary (Ferguson) Stanley, 97, Independence, MO passed from this life on Friday, December 17, 2010.
A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
Edna was born June 23, 1913 in Kansas City, Mo to the late David and Isabell (Summers) Ferguson. She graduated from East High School in 1932. Besides being a homemaker, she worked at Lake City and Twin Drive-in. She was active in the Susquehanna Baptist Church Senior Chair, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1000, and the Medical Center of Independence Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by husband Harmon Stanley, brother Lacy and sisters Grace Ferguson, Ona Howell, Nell Lawhon, daughter Edna Mae Stanley, and granddaughter Valerie Ann (Tribble) Lammert.
Survivors include: daughters Teresa (Val) Tribble, Ethel Loftin, Barbara Johnson, Sandra (Denny) Romines, son, Wm. Michael (Sharon) Hunter; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
