Edna Mae Stanley, Age 52, Excelsior Springs, Mo passed from this life on February 27, 2009 at the Valley Manor Rehab and Center where she resided for the past five years.
Edna was born August 21, 1956 in Independence, Mo. She was employed by The Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City and HR Block. In earlier years she was employed by Mid-America Cinema at several locations and Bethany Hospital. She was a former member of M A D D. Edna was a member of the Susquehanna Baptist Church in Independence, Mo, a graduate of Fort Osage High School and has an associates degree in accounting from the Kansas City School of Business.
Her survivors include her mother, Edna Stanley of Independence; sisters, Teresa Tribble and husband Val of Holt, Mo, Barbara Johnson of Grain Valley, Mo., Ethel Loftin of Independence, Mo, Sandra Romines and husband Dennis of Grain Valley, Mo, Willa of Kansas, Libby Hunter of NKC, Debbie Proffitt of Holt, Mo., Nancy McBride of Braymer, Mo, Mary Frances Catalano of Lees’ Summit, Mo; brothers, Mike Hunter and wife Sharon of Lees’ Summit, Mo, Tom Hunter of New Jersey, Ted Hunter of Tennessee; eight nephews, Paul V. Tribble of Excelsior Springs, Mo and Scott, Jerry, L. Mike, Rick, Kevin, Bill of the greater Kansas City area and Johnny of Iraq; ten nieces Kerri, Jenny, Vicky, Renee, Robbin, Shawn, Brandy, Kim, Belinda of the greater Kansas City area; eleven great nieces; seven great nephews; three great-great nephews; and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harmon N. Stanley; great-niece, Valerie Ann Tribble; brothers, John Hunter, Bill Hunter, Jim Combs; and sister, Brenda Hunter.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Edna’s honor on March 8, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel.
