Melvin Ray "Mel" Stanley

Mel Stanley, 84, of Independence, MO passed away May 12, 2015. Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, May 15, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 10am Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carrollton, MO. Mel was born on August 8, 1931 to Richard and Izora (Newport) Stanley in Wakenda, MO. For many years he operated the Mel Stanley Excavating Company. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 64 years, Shirley (Perrine) Stanley. Other survivors include sisters Joan Kinnaman and Judy Ravenscroft, and a brother, Larry Stanley. Mel also leaves many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
