Clara Agnes "Aggie" Steede (Reynolds)

May 25, 1929 — November 15, 2022

In memory of Clara Agnes Steede “Aggie”, (93) of Independence, MO, born May 25, 1929 – November 15, 2022.
Aggie was born near Park Falls, Wisconsin, to Claude and Freida Reynolds. She started working as a young kid washing dishes for a neighbor lady who paid her 25 cents per day. By high school she was working as a telephone operator, and swears she never listened in on any conversations. But she always said that with a sneaky grin. After high school she began working as a teller at the local bank. Through her life her greatest job was raising 4 fabulous children, while also working in PTA, church programs, and as a secretary/accountant for her husband Harry’s heating and cooling business.
Aggie was baptized as a baby in the Lutheran church, but after she married Harry, she fell in love with the stories of the Book of Mormon and knew this was the gospel she wanted to follow; so she got baptized in the Community of Christ church at 23 years old. She remained loyal to this gospel her entire life. In the past year of her life she taught a Book of Mormon Sunday school class for 4 months, administered to several people, gave at least 6 sermons for church, participated in at least one service every month, and helped set apart a good friend to the pastorate for the Beacon Heights Congregation.
Aggie is preceded by her mother, father, an older brother, a younger sister, and the love of her life, her husband, Harry Steede and one great-grandchild. She would not want us to forget to mention the many friends that have passed on before her, as she missed many of them very much and spoke about them often. We know there was a huge celebration in heaven as she greeted each of them on November 15th.
Aggie is survived by her sister, Geraldine Schmidt, four children, Neil Steede (Trudy), Kim Steede (Susan), Carla Cole, and Lynn McMillan (Don); as well as several nieces and nephews, 24 Grandchildren including spouses; 25 Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild.
Memorials may be donated to “The Heroes Fund” located at: HeroFundUSA, Inc., 1200 NW South Outer Road, Suite 116, Blue Springs, MO 64015
Aggie’s greatest pleasures included being with her family, traveling, writing thousands of poems, collecting Nativities, mugs, owls, cardinals, dolls, and a million other things. She loved working on church projects, decorating for special church dinners and serving others. She will be missed by all who share these memories with her.
The family of Aggie Steede wish to express their sincere thanks to the hundreds of people who prayed for Aggie and who supported them in so many ways these last few months.

A celebration of life will take place at 2pm on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Beacon Heights Community of Christ.
