James Steffens, 42, our beloved son, of Independence, MO, was finally relieved from the severe pain from critical injuries suffered twenty years ago from a military injury. James was born April 26, 1967 in Kansas City, MO. He always tried to be upbeat and his family was able to have some wonderful times with him. He loved to joke and enjoyed helping people. One thing he was proud of was that he was one of the first to give his hair to “Locks of Love”. He had donated six times. James was a long distance engineer for BNSF Railroad. His special loves in his life were his niece Kyrstyn and Sparkles, his service dog Chihuahua. He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Hilda Steffens; his sisters, Shelley, Amanda, Sandra and Darrell and their son Tazman; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; our dear church family, Oak Grove SDA; and many friends.
