Lurabelle M. Steffens, 91, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Monterey Park Nursing Center, Independence, MO in the care of Crossroads Hospice staff. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Steffens will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Blue Springs Cemetery.
Lurabelle was born February 21, 1920 in Grain Valley, MO to parents Frank and Esther (Basham) Meierand. She graduated from William Chrisman High School and married Earl H. Steffens on October 12, 1950. Mr. Steffens preceded her in death on September 5, 2002. Lurabelle retired from Lake City Ammunition in 1984. Mrs. Steffens leaves behind her daughter, Lana Tharp and husband, Dennis; son Mike Steffens and wife, Lori; and grandson Billy Oxley.
