Stella Marie McMichael

Stella Marie McMichael, 59, passed away on Wednesday August 2, 2023. She was born on January 21, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, MO to Chalmer and Betty Hicks. Stella was an amazing mother; she truly loved her children no matter what they did and was always there to offer an ear or a word of motivation.  She was not only a mother but a best friend, giving you the advice you needed to hear. Marie was also a fantastic grandmother and caregiver, her grandson’s best friend. She was a fantastic nurse, mentor, and leader, she made everyone better just by knowing her. Marie loved cooking and was the best cook ever, everyone who tried her cinnamon rolls would agree. She got into gardening in the last few years and was very skilled at it. Marie wasn’t here for long but made an amazing impact on everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Marie is survived by daughters Cierra McMichael and Samantha Dodge, son Sterling McMichael, grandson Elliot, two brothers Robert and Dave Hicks, and nephew Dave Hicks. She is preceded in death by her parents, ex husband and best friend Tim Michael, and son Chase McMichael.

A visitation for Stella Marie and Chase will be held at First Baptist Church in Oak Grove, MO on Thursday August 10, 2023 from 5-7pm with a funeral service starting at 1pm on Friday August 11, 2023 . They will be buried at Shore Cemetery in Oak Grove, MO. There is a wake following burial from 4-7pm at Captain's Sports Lounge in Grain Valley, MO.
