Thomas W. “Tom” Stephens, 65, of Osceola, MO, passed away, Monday, May 31, 2010 at St. Luke’s on the Plaza Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association. Tom was born October 8, 1944 in Mt. Clemins, MI to Delmar R. and Virginia Elizabeth (Ream) Stephens. He grew up in Independence, graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1963. He worked as a sheet metal worker for the Local #2 Sheet Metal Workers Union in Independence for a number of years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and scouting. He was a member of the BSA where he was an Eagle Scout and the keeper of the Wampum in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He is survived by; his wife, Judy Stephens of the home; a son, Christopher Stephens and wife Stephanie of Long Beach, CA; stepdaughters, Debbie Satterfield and husband Kris of Blue Springs, MO, Kathie Larrison and husband Ralph of Grain Valley, MO and Kellie Schulenberg of Osceola, MO; brothers, John Hart and wife Karen of Bradenton, FL, Dale Hart and wife Mary Lou of Lee’s Summit, MO and Jay Hart and wife Randi of Independence, MO and 4 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, John Hart and brother, Pat Hart.
