Doris "Jo� Stephenson, 84 of Independence passed away Sat. Jul 22, 2006 at her home. Services will be 1:00 pm, Wed. Jul. 26, 2006 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO followed by a graveside services at 4:30 pm in McCullough Cemetery, Triplet, MO. Visitation will be 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the Chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Englewood Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Stephenson was born on Apr. 14, 1922, one of fifteen children, to John and Stella (Dawson) Potter in Attbury, IL and had moved to Missouri when she was a year old. She was a loving homemaker and a great mother and grandmother who enjoyed Crocheting, Cross-stitch, doing arts and crafts and making afghans and quilts for members of her family. She was a member of the Englewood Assembly of God Church. Jo was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. "Steve� Stephenson in 1986 and by a daughter, Patricia Dugger in 1991. She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Armstrong and husband Dale of Independence and Debi Goldsmith and husband Ralph of Grain Valley, MO. Four brothers Charles Potter, Homer Potter, Bill Potter and Jim Potter all of Independence. Three sisters, Dorothy Grossman of Bosworth, MO, Mary Emmett of Independence, MO and Sue Harden of Carrolton, MO. Four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
