Johnny Stephenson, 75 of Kansas City, MO passed away, Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Johnny was born April 27, 1931 in Grain Valley, MO to Elmer and Mary (Casey) Stephenson and was a lifelong area resident graduating from Raytown High School in 1949. Mr. Stephenson was a dairy farmer for many years. He enjoyed dairy farming, going to auctions, and spending time with his grandchildren. He had coached little league baseball for a number of years in Raytown, MO. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ella (Griffin) Stephenson; a daughter, Cheryl Sharp of Kansas City, MO; 2 sons, Jack Stephenson and David Stephenson both of Kansas City, MO; an aunt, Helen White of Independence, MO; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister.
