Nancy Stevens

Nancy Stevens, 72, of Centerview, MO peacefully passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at her home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011 in the chapel. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes Hospice, 725 E. Ohio St., Clinton, MO 64735. Nancy was born March 16, 1939 in Independence, MO to David and Roberta (Lee) Liggett. Mrs. Stevens was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, and tending to her chickens, horses and hummingbirds. Her family was the light of her life, always placing them before her own needs. Nancy is now “Dancing in The Rain”. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and loving husband of 57 years, David Stevens; son Dave Stevens, Jr.; daughter Cindy Kenepaske and husband John; grandchildren Christa Casebeer, Angie Hensley, John Paul Kenepaske, David M. Stevens, Logan Kenepaske; six great-grandchildren; brother David Liggett and wife Kathy.
