Valerie Stevens

Valerie A. Stevens, 53, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, November 01, 2008 at her home in Clinton, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Carson-Speaks. Burial in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Val was born November 15, 1954 in Ft. Sill, OK to Ronald and Beverly (Carter) Brown. She loved her family dearly and her world revolved around them. Mrs. Stevens was known as “Mom” to the kids in the neighborhood because of her care and concern for them. Val is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert Stevens; daughter Liela Van Vliet and husband Carl; grandchildren Carl Robert, Steven Caleb, Samuel Josiah, Rebekah Abigail; father Ronald Brown; sister Sherry Brison and husband David; brother Ron Brown and wife Jo Ellen; sister-in-law Betty Gray and husband Bo; brother-in-law Kenneth Stevens and wife Renee’, sisters-in-law Kathy Stevens, Karen Conaster and husband James; and by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Beverly Brown and mother-in-law Daphine Stevens.
