William Peter “Bill” Stevenson, 76, passed away on February 26, 2016. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., with a funeral service held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Bill will be laid to rest in Mound Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his honor.
Bill was born on July 15, 1939, in Independence, MO, to Steve and Sarah (Thomas) Stevenson. He was baptized into the RLDS church, and graduated from William Chrisman High School in the class of 1957. He owned various grocery stores in the Kansas City area.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; children, Debbie Stevenson-Marshall, Terrie McDonough (Brian), Jill Antes (Ken), and Billy Stevenson (Amy); grandchildren, Michele Wright, Anthony Ferro, Josh Ferro, Christina Box, Jessica Ferro, Shelby Antes, Connor Stevenson, Kevin Stevenson, Dylan Antes, Quinn Stevenson, and Cameron Stevenson; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Milberta Parish; step-children, Kathryn Minton (Mark), Mike Thomas (Elaine), Dana Bradley (Chuck).
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Pat Stevenson; sister, Sara Deloyse Gustafson; brother, Earl Barrington; and grandson, Michael Box.
