Emma Evylen Stevinson, 88, of Independence, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the Monterey Park Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be at 2 PM on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052 with interment in the Mount Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM., on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Chapel.
Emma is survived by: three children, James Paul Stevinson and his wife Renda, Lee’s Summit; Robert Louis Stevinson and his significant other Darrel Joseph Jacksonville, FL; and Diana Kay Bennett and her husband Richard, Independence; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Doris Lamanno, Independence; L.D. Paul, Archie; and Gene Paul, Ponte Vedra, FL. Emma was born on July 10, 1925 in Stet, MO the daughter of Carless and Veda (Davis) Paul
. She had worked for Avon for 42 years until her retirement in 2006. She enjoyed baking, cooking and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her dear family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Ross Stevinson, one brother and one sister.
Contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or American Juvenile Diabetes Association.
