Ronald Douglas “Scotty” Stewart, 71, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Private memorial services. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Ronald was born March 17, 1938 in Cambuslang, Scotland to George and Helen (Farquhar) Stewart. He retired from Allis Chalmers in 1989 after 31 ½ years where he was president of the local union #1958. Scotty also worked at Bent Oak Golf Course in Oak Grove, MO. While he loved his family dearly, golf was his passion in life! Mr. Stewart is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan (McKenchnie) Stewart; sons George Stewart and wife Sissy, John Stewart and wife Terry; grandchildren Joshua, Tyler, Brianna, Madison, and Danner Stewart, Tasha Byler; great-grandchildren Colin Simms, Ella Fashing; brother George Stewart and wife Cathy; sister Margaret Handley; sister-in-law Jeanie Little.
