Urbane Stewart

Urbane “Ben” Stewart, 80, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at his home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at Soul’s Harbour Assembly of God Church, 17142 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Ben was born August 31, 1930 in Luber, AR to Oscar and Roxie (Mahan) Stewart. On March 20, 1951 he was united in marriage to Juanita Everett of Hanover, AR. They lived in Kansas City and he retired from Armco Steel after 42 years of dedicated service. He was a loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Juanita Stewart; sons and daughters-in-law Kenny Stewart, JoMarie Stewart, Bob and Laura Stewart, Gary and Mary Stewart; grandchildren Sal (Allison), Benny (Windy), Amy (Stephen), Angela, Anna (Michael), Eric, Bethany, Phillip, Tyler, Annette, Jordan, Rosalie, Andrea; eight great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and their wives L.D. and Martha Everett, Wayne and Julia Everett; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his son Ernie Stewart; brother Ruben Stewart.
