Violet Delores (Shoemaker) Stockton, 74, passed away October 5, 2009 at Bothwell Regional Center in Sedalia, MO.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Lobb Cemetery, Blue Springs, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Violet was born April 26, 1935 in Blackwell, OK the daughter of Joe and Edna (Elmquist) Shoemaker. She moved to Barry County, MO as a young child. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Harry Stockton on March 14, 1954 and celebrated 55 years together. To this union three children were born.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Stockton and sons; Steve and his wife Kathy of Warsaw, MO; and Marty and his wife Dana of Independence, MO; and daughter Kelly and her husband Tim of Grain Valley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren who were the Joy of her life; Andi, Steven, Kristi, Robby, Chad, McKayla, Maddie and Hannah; sisters, Emma Jo Privett of Butterfield, MO and Erma Ruth Rose of Carthage, MO and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Velma Garrison; two half sisters, Edna Hughes and Toots McNutt.
