David A. Stone, 58, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 30th 2013. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6th 2013 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO.
David was born July 5th 1954 in Independence, MO to Clyde W. and Mary Ann (Bradley) Stone. He attended Truman High School and proudly served in the Navy during Vietnam. David worked for many years as a truck driver for the Jackson County Public Work’s Road and Bridge Department. Later he married his wife of 19 years Linda (Jones) Stone. His relationship with his wife was truly special and they did everything together including camping at their favorite state park, Pomme De Terre. David listened to hard rock music and was full of good humor and enjoyed talking to people. He loved his dogs; especially Buster who brought him comfort in the last few years.
David is survived by wife, Linda of the home; daughter, Paula Stone and significant other, Larry Leek of Blue Springs, MO; stepson, Tony Fetterling and wife Tina of Concordia, MO; grandchildren, James and Jacob Leek; Troy Rice; A.J., Ariel and Mattie Fetterling; mother, Mary Stone of Windsor, MO; brothers, Larry Stone and wife Bobbie of Windsor, MO; Rick Stone and wife Karen of York, SC; cousin, Cindy Hinkle of Independence, MO; father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Louise Jones of Independence, MO; brothers-in-law, Harold Jones and wife Pat of Greenwood, MO; Gary Jones and wife Linda of Wichita, KS; friends, Mary Anne Cooper of Lee’s Summit, MO; and Lucille Kottwitz of Kansas City, MO.
