Pauline L. Stone, of Overland Park, Kansas and formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23, from 4 – 6pm at Speaks, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence. Services will be Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 2:00pm at the chapel with Pastor Francis O’Donnell officiating. Burial will follow at Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, MO.
Pauline was born on June 13, 1916, in Grand River, Iowa, to Earnest C. Vanderpool and Jessie Snook Vanderpool. Her father was a Baptist minister. She spent much of her formative years in Hale, Missouri, where she met Clarence G. Stone. They were married April 24, 1937. She lived most of her married adult life in Kansas City. They had two sons, Keith C. Stone and Russell D. Stone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, her husband and her two sons.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Karen A. Stone of Overland Park, Kansas and Sandra E. Stone of Mansfield, Texas, two granddaughters, Kristi L. Marini and husband John of St. Simons Island, Georgia, and Kari M. Walker and husband Bill of Mansfield, Texas. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Emily Ellen Walker, Elise Reagan Walker, John Russell Walker and Ella Grace Walker and Evelyn Maria Marini.
