Burnell Story, 79, of Kansas City, MO passed away June 22, 2015. Visitation will be 10-11 am Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St, Indep., MO. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday at the chapel. Graveside services will be 3 pm Saturday at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, MO. Burnell was born on February 26, 1936 in Sturkie, AR to Wayne and Isephin (Watkins) Story. After the loss of his mother at 6 wks old, Burnell went to live with his grandparents, V.O. and Hettie Story. After graduation Burnell moved to the Kansas City area, and in 1963 opened his first auto body shop, Story’s Auto Repair. He retired on June 22, 2015. After opening his shop with his brother, he met and married the love of his life, Rose Boden. July 25th would have been their 51st wedding anniversary. Burnell had a strong work ethic, and treated everyone fairly. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone, and all were treated with respect. He was a gentleman through and through. Survivors include; wife Rose; brother, Larry Story (Joy); step brother Bill Harrison (Lynn); sister in law Louise Story; special Aunt Hazel Hoyer; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Burnell is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister, Freda Mae Bentley; brother, James “Bob” Story, and a step sister Beverly Harrison.
