M. Jean Stowell, 87, Lee’s Summit, MO (formerly of Wichita, KS, and Lake of the Ozarks), died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 1, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Private burial will take place on Monday in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service, from 1-2:00 pm Saturday at the Chapel. Mrs. Stowell was born November 8, 1920, in Tulsa, OK, to Bud and Sybil Winn. She was married to Kenneth E. Stowell, Sr., and was a life-time member of the United Methodist Church. She had worked as receptionist and secretary to the General Manager of Stearman Aircraft. Before meeting her husband she was a pilot and together they enjoyed flying and traveling. She was an avid golfer and also loved archery. Along with her family she loved to water ski and spend time at the lake. Jean was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, and son Brad in 1993. She is survived by her son, Ken Stowell and wife Jackie, of Stillwell, KS; and her grandchildren, Trey Stowell, Wichita, KS, Alexandra Stowell-Long, Kansas City, MO, and her mother, April Long, Beth Kroulick, Amy Danner, and Robert Eisenhart; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Jake Morczkowski, Robert and Sam Kroulick, Colby and Courtney Coffman, and Caitlyn Danner.
