Eleaner Stuart, 91, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away, Friday, April 9, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24 at the E 39th Street Community of Christ Church. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 23 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Community of Christ Temple Endowment Fund. Eleaner, a twin, was born on May 10, 1918 in Chicago, IL to Glenn and Vera (Hartshorn) Fairbanks. The family moved to Independence where Eleaner attended Bryant Elementary School and eventually graduated with honors from William Chrisman High School. She attended the University of Kansas City where she majored in American History. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed family, friends, church activities and reading. Eleaner married J.C. Stuart, a full-time minister, on June 14, 1941; he preceded her in death on September 5, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law and grandson, Bruce and David Koehler, in 1980; as well as her twin sister, Dorothy, in 2007. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Koehler of Lee’s Summit, MO; a son, Cameron Stuart of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Jane Mallett of Independence, MO; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
