Josephine T. Studer, 77, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2012 from injuries sustained from a fall. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00pm on Friday, April 20 followed by services at 7:00 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Cremation to follow. Jo was born and raised on a farm in Faucett, Missouri. She moved to Kansas City and worked 15 years each at Travelers Insurance, H&R Block, and The Jones Store, retiring in 2000. Jo was a talented, creative, and hard-working individual who enjoyed yard work, shopping, decorating, and gambling in Las Vegas and local casinos. She was a devout Catholic and loving wife, mother, and caregiver to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignacious and Johanna Spiek, 7 siblings, and numerous relatives/friends. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jack, daughter and son-in-law, Julie and John Kozlowski, and sisters, Clara Gillespie and Pat Whitley.
