Josephine Studer

Josephine T. Studer, 77, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2012 from injuries sustained from a fall. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00pm on Friday, April 20 followed by services at 7:00 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Hope House, P.O. Box 577, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063 are suggested
Jo was born and raised on a farm in Faucett, Missouri. She moved to Kansas City and worked 15 years each at Travelers Insurance, H&R Block, and The Jones Store, retiring in 2000. Jo was a talented, creative, and hard-working individual who enjoyed yard work, shopping, decorating, and gambling in Las Vegas and local casinos. She was a devout Catholic and loving wife, mother, and caregiver to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignacious and Johanna Spiek, 7 siblings, and numerous relatives/friends. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jack, daughter and son-in-law, Julie and John Kozlowski, and sisters, Clara Gillespie and Pat Whitley.
