Linda Le Suchman, 71, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on April 26, 2015, after her battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 10:00am, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, in Independence, MO. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 29, from 6-8:00pm, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence.
Linda was born in Wareham, Massachusetts on October 10, 1943, to David and Georgine (Decker) Coleman. She grew up in Holton, KS, where she graduated as class salutatorian from Holton High School in 1961. Linda attended KU as a Pharmacy student, graduating from the program in 1966. At KU, she was also a sister of Alpha Phi sorority.
After graduating, she met and married Dr. Rodger Suchman, and together had two sons. Over the years, she enjoyed traveling, reading, playing in bridge clubs, watching movies, working in the yard, and volunteering her time in Wilshire at Lakewood and the Junior Services League in Independence.
Her family remembers her fondly as a friendly, thoughtful, compassionate, caring, and witty jokester who had a host of friends wherever she went. She was a blessing as a life partner, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a faithful attendant of her grandson’s sporting events to cheer him on.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Rodger; sons, David Suchman and his wife, Kelly and Tom Suchman and his wife Carrie; one grandson, Jacob Suchman; three sisters: Sara James, Tricia Brown, and Bette Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family encourages contributions be made to the ALS Association, Mid-America Chapter, or Northcare Hospice, in memory of Linda.
