Suella K. Reed

Suella K. Reed, 86, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Lee’s Summit, MO.   Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39^th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow at Salem Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel.  

Suella was born in Morrisvile, Missouri to Dewey and Fern Kearney on November 25, 1936.  She went to High School at William Chrisman in Independence, MO and graduated in 1954.   

She worked as an executive secretary for Union Wire Rope for 35 years.  While she enjoyed beautiful gardens, her greatest joy was spending time with her sister, Francis. She married Marvin Reed on September 20, 1957 and they were married for 66 years.

Suella is survived by her husband Marvin of Lee’s Summit, MO.  Suella lived in Aschaffenburg, Germany for 2 years while Marvin served in the Army.  This began their love of traveling.  They cruised around the world and had many fond memories of the places they traveled.
