Susan Lee Liang

Susan Lee Liang, passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 4, 2024, in Independence, Missouri. She was born on March 13, 1935, in East Chicago, Indiana to C.P. and Ah Fung (Leung) Lee.

Graduating from Washington High School and pursuing her dream, Susan became a nurse through hard work and determination. She touched countless lives during her career and left an indelible mark on all she cared for. Susan's commitment to serving others extended beyond the hospital walls as she actively participated in the IRHC Auxiliary, the Nurses Association, and dedicated years to the PTA in Independence. Susan also found fulfillment in supporting the Boy Scouts as a Den Leader and Troop Parent, nurturing future leaders with care and guidance.

Outside of her professional life, Susan found joy in various hobbies and interests. She was an avid cook who delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore the country through travel. In quieter moments, Susan could be found immersed in a good book or challenging herself with crossword puzzles.

Susan's lively personality was infectious to all who knew her. Described as vivacious, welcoming, outgoing, and selfless, she approached life with a zeal that was truly inspiring. Her great sense of humor warmed hearts and brought smiles to faces wherever she went.

In celebrating Susan's life and legacy, let us remember her as a beacon of light whose kindness knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her but forever cherished in our hearts for the love she shared so generously.

Susan is survived by her sons, Patrick Liang (Dea), Jeffrey Liang (Renee), Bryon Liang (Maggie); grandchildren, Ethan Liang, Tessa Liang and Mira Liang.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Jing Liang, her parents, C.P. and Ah Fung Lee, two brothers (Charles W Lee and Albert Lee), and three sisters (Helen Cheung, Jane Lee, Joyce Eng).
