Ernest Szabados

Dr. Ernest Szabados, 89, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Friday, March 19 at St. Mary Catholic Church and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow, beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Memorial Fund, c/o The Ministry Center, 600 N. Liberty, Independence, MO 64050.
Dr. Szabados served in the U.S. Army in the surgical unit prior to working as an orthopedic surgeon for many years. He continued to gather information from medical journals and retained his medical license until this last January. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Independence and in his spare time enjoyed playing the violin and participating in the Northland Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Szabados was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mary (Tirpak) Szabados and his beloved wife of 58 years, Eva (Eross) Szabados.
