Carl Leslie Taylor, Jr., 64, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015. A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00pm Sunday, September 27th at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Carl was born May 18, 1951 in Shelby, TN as one of three boys to Ernestine Marie (Draper) and Carl Leslie Taylor, Sr. they moved to Kansas where he graduated from Wyandotte High School. He married his beloved Delpha Floyd on August 4, 1974 and together they raised three children. Carl was a regional truck driver for over 20 years, most recently with Holland. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and bowling. His family remembers him as a big kind hearted teddy bear who often “adopted” children who weren’t his family into his own clan. He was hard working and a good provider who cared so much about his family.
Survivors include wife, Delpha of the home; daughter, Nikki Nicole Rogers (Jeff) of Maricopa, AZ; son, Jeremiah Joe “JJ” Taylor of Independence, MO; daughter, Julie Lee Taylor (Jesse Swire) of Independence, MO; grandchildren April Jean Marie and Kaylee Nicole Rogers, Jaylen Rush Swire, Jace, Mikala, Aliezah, and Bobby; and great grandchild Jaxson Kole Lasher.
