Joseph Leroy Taylor

Joseph Leroy Taylor, 88, of Independence, MO, passed away on Mar 6, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 3:00p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Farview Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ, 11404 E 24th St S, Independence, MO 64052.
Joseph was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Yuba Co., CA to William Joseph Taylor and Helen (Hargrave) Taylor. He was married to Effie Dell (Johnson) Taylor for 67 loving years. He is survived by his wife, Effie Dell; 2 sons, Aaron Taylor, of Independence and Neil Taylor of Seattle, WA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mona Gard and her husband, Vern, and Violet Day; and MANY nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Lee (Taylor) Gibson; his parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Joseph was a minister for Jesus Christ for over 60 years. He played guitar, loved to sing and could preach a powerful sermon. He was known for his love of the Lord and sharing it with others.
