Roy Taylor

Roy L. Taylor, 90, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Maywood Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or Grace Hospice. Roy was born June 20, 1920 in DeKalb County, MO to William and Margie (Hutton) Taylor. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII in England and Africa. Roy was united in marriage on May 31, 1947 to Helen Casner. Mr. Taylor retired from Amoco Oil Refinery after 31 years of dedicated service in 1982. His life revolved around his family. Mr. Taylor is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen (Casner) Taylor; son Roger Taylor and wife Lynn; daughter Joyce Morrison and husband Al; granddaughters Kendra and Alyssa Morrison; sister Hazel Crosby. Roy was preceded in death by his granddaughter Caitlin Morrison in ’05.
