Brenda Gayle Tennison

Brenda Gayle Tennison, of Independence, Missouri, age 70, beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on March 25, 2023. She entered this world on May 25, 1952, in Waynesboro, TN, born to Amos and Annie Maxine (Guffey) Staggs, she was one of nine children.

Brenda with her family moved to the Independence area when she was a young girl and grew up in the area with her parents and siblings. She worked for many years as an Inspector for Plastic Enterprise, after her retirement she started what some would say was her real job and true call, focusing on being a grandmother and caretaker for her family. Brenda was a lover of Elvis Presley, Korean dramas, country music and TikTok where she could watch Elvis clips one after the other. She enjoyed planting flower gardens, her favorites being lilac bushes and lavender and she loved when the dogwood trees would bloom. Above all else Brenda loved her family more than anything in the world and her presence will be deeply missed.

Brenda leaves behind her husband, Harold Tennison; daughters, Brandi Jett, Dana (John) Raines; 4 grandchildren, Taylor Jett, Amanda Raines, John Mathew Raines, Savannah Parker; 5 great grandchildren, Jacob Jett, Jordyn Jett, Sophia AnnMarie Jett, Klohie Jett, James Jett; siblings, Randall Staggs, Clara Sloan, Patty Staggs, Addie Brison, Nancy Long; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Annie Staggs; and siblings, Glenn Staggs, Gene Staggs, Kathy Staggs.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 West Lexington Avenue, Independence, Missouri 64052. Family will greet guest between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
