Terry Walton Blankenship

Terry Walton Blankenship, 85 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Centerpoint Medical Center.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel.  The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Omaha, NE.  Donations may be made in his name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org    Terry was born January 24, 1939 in Harris, NC to Andy and Minnie (Bradley) Blankenship and spent his early life in Virginia. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University.  He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1959-63.  He had worked for over 34 years for the Hartford Insurance Company in Omaha and Overland Park until he retired as a Claims Manager in 2002.  He loved tennis and golf and upon retirement enjoyed boating and fishing in Bella Vista, AR, spending time with family, and was an avid woodworker and gardener.   He is survived by; his loving wife of 60 years, Jacque of the home; twin daughters, Lisa Perl and husband Andrew and Melissa Beckenbach and husband Bradley all of Blue Springs, MO; a son, TJ Blankenship of Blue Springs, MO;  a brother, Ray Blankenship and wife Sharon of MI; a sister, Lois Yeatts of VA; 7 grandchildren, Megan, Zachary (Britany), Christopher, Taylor (Melissa), Sheridan, Braeden and Lucy and 4 great grandchildren, Thea, Jonah, Parker and Maeve.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and 4 sisters.
