Terry Scott McConnell, 58, of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, passed away on November 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on May 28, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri to Diana and Andy Gill. He spent his life close to the people and places he loved most.
Terry worked in the trucking industry for more than 35 years, building lasting relationships and earning deep respect from colleagues and customers across the region. He cared profoundly about people, and his kindness, loyalty, and steady presence made an immeasurable impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Terry is survived by his wife, Mechelle, and his children Megan (David), Brandon (Abbie), Brooke (Sam), Erica (TJ), his 7 grandchildren, 2 dogs, his brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew.
He was proudly known as Papa or Grandpa to his beloved grandchildren: Jack, Arlo, Everly, Max, Gentrie, Sam, and Hadley, who brought him endless joy.
Terry was an avid Chiefs fan, a lover of all things sports, and happiest when he was on or near the water. Whether cheering on his team, sharing a laugh with friends, or spending time with his family, Terry lived with a big heart and an easy warmth that made people feel welcomed and cared for.
Terry’s life was centered around the people he cared for, and his love for them was obvious in everything he did. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to those he called family.
