Susan Terry

Susan W. Terry, 88, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Jefferson Health Care. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel. Cremation to follow services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice. Susan was born October 31, 1919 in Leeds, MO to John F. and Pearl (St. Clair) Witthar, Sr. She was a very faithful and active member of the First Christian Church of Independence for over 60 years. Mrs. Terry was proud of the fact that she was an accountant with TWA in 1941. She attended Kansas City College of Commerce and later Central Missouri State University for 3 ½ years. Susan was a member of the Junior Service League of Independence volunteering many hours of her time. Mrs. Terry retired from the IRS in 1989 after ten years of service. Susan is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jack Terry; daughter Susan Galewaler; son Philip Terry; grandchildren Rose Montgomery, Cammie Meador, Sean, Jeff, Susie and Ian Galewaler; great-grandchildren Ryder Meador, Karli Montgomery, Bailey Galewaler and Laythe Montgomery; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
