Flora Ann Theys

Flora Ann Theys, age 96, passed away April 8, 2007 at Rosewood Health Center, Independence, MO. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Mound Grove Cemetery with a memorial service scheduled later. Donations may be made to the Community of Christ Temple Fund and the Restoration Trail Foundation. Flora was born April 25, 1910 in Fuller, KS. She was the daughter of Frank A. Theys, Jr. and Zella Cummings. She graduated from Mulberry High School in Allendale, KS and attended Kansas State College, Pittsburg, KS, graduating with a nursing degree. Flora was a practicing registered nurse for over 50 years which included working as an E.R. Nurse at Independence Sanitarium & Hospital, a private Duty Nurse where she traveled parts of the world and a Public Health Nurse for the City of Independence. She was well known and respected in the Independence, Kansas City area as a Nurse. Flora was a member of the Stone Church Community of Christ in Independence since 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frank A. Theys III and Eugene A. Theys. Her survivors are a niece, Sheryl Ann Rairdan of Stettler, Alberta Canada and a nephew, Michael E. Theys, Plano, TX.
