Jerry Thompson, Sr.

March 2, 1965 — November 24, 2008

Jerry Walter Wayne Thompson, Sr. 43, Lone Jack, MO, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 24, 2008. Jerry was full of life and had infectious love that touched many lives. He will be missed tremendously. Visitation will be 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Friday, November 28, at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence. Private funeral services will be held at Tri-City Ministries with burial in Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a scholarship fund in Jerry’s memory at Tri-City Christian School to help a child attend school. Mr. Thompson was born March 2, 1965, in Modesto, CA, to Joe Ray and Elnora Thompson. He had lived in the Kansas City area for many years. He was involved in Thompson Brothers Construction and enjoyed his work. He married Dana Turner and they have been married for twenty-four wonderful years. They raised a family together and Jerry was proud of his children. He loved family gatherings and was building a new home where they could all get together. Jerry is survived by his wife, Dana Thompson, of the home; three children, Jerry Walter Wayne Thompson, Jr. of Grain Valley, and Brandi Nicole Thompson and Brooklyn Anne Thompson, both of the home; one grandchild, Jaxon Cole Thompson; his parents, Joe and Elnora Thompson, of Lebanon, MO; his brother, Joe Ray Thompson, Jr.; three sisters, Tina Hunter and husband Gerald, Tammy Torres and husband Jerome, and Tarie Jo Bunner; and many other loving relatives and friends.
