Beverly Thorne

Beverly Lee Thorne, 76, of Independence, MO was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Overland Park Regional Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial in Salem Cemetery. Beverly was born May 14, 1933 in Leeton, MO to James and Mildred (Easterwood) Hamm. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Elam and Violet Austin, after her parents deaths. Mrs. Thorne worked for various health care offices in the X-ray field before retiring. She was a volunteer for the Bingham Wagoner Estate. Beverly loved her family dearly and her life revolved around her grandson Chase. Beverly is survived by her daughters Mildred A. Thorne, M. Joann Simcoe and husband Gary L.; grandson Chase Maxwell Simcoe; and by many friends. Mrs. Thorne was preceded in death by her husband Porter Maxwell Thorne, daughter Violet Lee Thorne; and by two sisters.
