Bernes Marie Thorp

Bernes Marie Thorp, 73, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 1, at the Resurrection Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, Lenexa, KS. The visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 29, at St. Mark�s Catholic Church, Independence, MO with a rosary service starting at 6:30 p.m. Contributions may be sent to the St. Mark�s Building Fund. Bernes was born on April 6, 1930 in Osborne, KS to Theodore and Catherine Brummer. She was an Inspector for Western Electric for 27 years and was also a member of St. Mark�s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Richard Lee Thorp. Bernes is survived by one son, Terry Thorp; two daughters, Kim Anderson and Darcel Jones; eight grandchildren, Logan, Ty and Tara Thorp, Brian and Adam Jones, Riley, Peyton and Tatum Anderson; three sisters, Anita Eilert, Margaret Carr and Caroline Arnoldy; and two brothers, Urban and Matt Schulte.
