John Thomas Tittle, 75, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00pm Saturday, October 24th at Speaks Suburban Chapel; followed by a memorial service with Military Honors at 2:00pm at the chapel.
John was born October 31st 1939 in Independence as one of ten children to James Daniel and Annie Bessie (Cook) Tittle. He was put to work as a teen to support his family and, later, earned his high school equivalency after enlisting in the military. John proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He married his beloved Brenda Joyce in June of 1958 and together raised two boys. He was a hard working provider for his family having worked in several printing companies over the years. Eventually he was the owner/ operator of Cycle Chrome doing chrome plating. John strongly encouraged his boys to have the education he never had. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a member of the American Legion. His family remembers him as gentle, and loving.
Survivors include companion, Linda of the home; son, John W. Tittle (Eunna) of Centennial, CO; four grandchildren; brother Lawrence Tittle (Lois) of Lee’s Summit, MO; sister, Bettie Barnett (George) of Las Vegas, NV; and numerous extended family and friends who will miss him. John was preceded in death by six brothers; a sister; his wife, Brenda; and beloved son, Danny Tittle. The family encourages contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
