Jessie L. Titus, 80, of Independence, MO went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 in the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Jessie was born April 25, 1930 in St. Claire, MO to John Benjamin and Caddie May (Wicks) Turner. Jessie worked at Home Savings Association for 32 years, TJ Max, and Old Country Buffet. She loved baking and cooking, and was known for her German Chocolate cake. Ms. Titus loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. She loved miniature golf and bowling in her spare time. Ms. Titus is survived by her children Diana Campbell (Mike), Harold Titus, Mike Titus (Traci); dear companion Jay L. Smith; grandchildren Kim Miller, Kelly Hanna, Dustin Titus, Tiffany Titus, Lane Titus, Reid Titus, and Max Titus; great-granddaughters Addison Miller and Mylin Hanna; siblings Nevaleen Cox, Sonny Turner, Loretta Yingst, Deloris Brewer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Wesley Turner; sisters Dorothy Leonard, Eva Allen and Louise Lunsford; infant son Virgil Ralph Brownsburger; and great-grandson Carter Miller.
