Anna Tolbert

Anna Mae Tolbert, 90, lifelong resident of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Waterford Ladies Home in Blue Springs. A visitation will be from 1-2:00 PM Monday, November 24 with services beginning at 2:00 PM at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Indep., MO. Graveside services will be at 3:30 PM Monday at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Anna was born May 12, 1918 to Frank and Theresa Rotherberger, one of eleven children. She worked as an Avon Representative prior to becoming a machine operator for Tension Envelope, where she retired from in May 1983. Anna enjoyed yardwork, cross-stitch, and puzzles of all sorts, but above all, adored her grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Tolbert, Sr and son, Ralph “Tommy” Tolbert, Jr.. She is survived by two children and their spouses: Bill and Regina Tolbert and Terri and Damon Bowers; three grandchildren: Darren Luppens and wife Diana, Sammy Ellis and Wesley Tolbert; three great-grandchildren: Alyssa Luppens, Ryan and Lindsay Smith; and sister, Helen Etringer.
