Michael Ross Tompkins, 38 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Monday, November 7, 2011. Services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening November 10, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time Thursday evening at the chapel. A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday at the Bradford Cemetery near Williford, AR. Donations may be made to the Bradford Cemetery or to the American Cancer Society. Michael was born March 30, 1973 in Kansas City, MO to Dean and Carol (Hartness) Tompkins. He graduated from Raytown South High School in 1991 and later from Arkansas State University in 1999. He taught school at Lincoln Prep Academy and later worked as a Pharmaceutical Benefits Manager for Argus Health Systems for the past 5 years. Michael had a strong faith and was an active member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church. He married Colleen MacDonald on November 19, 2005; She survives. He is also survived by 3 children, Charlie, Cali and C.J. (Calvin); a sister, April Wilkins and husband Matt of Blue Springs, MO; his parents, Dean and Carol Tompkins of Blue Springs, MO; 2 nieces and a nephew, Piper, Leah and Gage and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
