Robert M. Traknis, 62, died suddenly on May 4th in Independence Missouri. He was the son of the late Bruno and Mary (Hanscom) Traknis. Loving father of a son Matthew J. Traknis SSG attached to the 62nd Mobil Medical Brigade serving in Iraq , a daughter Hillary Marchio and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Daniel J. Traknis and his wife Deborah, sisters Barbara Elwood and her husband Ralph, Dianne Giles and her husband Wesley, Dorothea Downey and her husband John. Nieces: Barbra, Dawn, Tara, Theresa and nephews: Adam, Brandon, Jared, Jason, Justin, Robert, number of great nieces and nephews. He had many dear friends in New Hampshire, including his devoted, loving friend and companion, Susan D’Arrigo. The medical field was apart of Roberts’s life for a long time. Most recently he found meaning as a hospice nurse. Robert loved and had a passion for books, literature and nature. He enjoyed sharing his love and passion for life. Robert will leave as his legacy his terrific sense of humor and wit. Robert’s absence will be felt by his family and friends. He is greatly missed. A private memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held for family and friends in Massachusetts at a later date.
