Travis Anthony Simpson

October 19, 1968 — June 16, 2024

Travis Anthony Simpson, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in his hometown of Independence, Missouri. Travis was born on October 19, 1968 to Robert and Alta (Wisehart) Simpson.

Throughout his life, Travis wore many hats - from being a dedicated Boy Scout and Den leader for two decades to leading the Explorers program in Independence and being an active member of the Shriner community. He was also a real estate agent and dedicated many years to working in private security in his younger years as well. His commitment to serving others was evident in everything he did. Known for his generous nature, Travis never hesitated to put a smile on someone's face by giving away things that brought them joy. He was a kind, humorous, selfless man.

Travis had a passion for collecting hotwheel cars, collecting over 50,000 throughout the years. He had a particular love for Corvettes. Travis also found solace in nature through fishing and hiking, appreciating the simple beauty of the world around him.

Above all else, Travis considered his family to be his proudest accomplishment. He poured his heart and soul into nurturing relationships with his loved ones and leaves behind cherished memories with them. He will always be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion.

Travis is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Cheryl Simpson; children, Amber Presley, Autum Martin (Damon), Terry Presley (Danielle), Kevin Simpson (Bridget), Tamara Simpson and Logan Simpson; 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; beloved furry companions, Lily Mae LaRu, Remy LaBeau and Baby Sky (cat); siblings, Charles Simpson (Kay), Kevin Simpson (Doris), Bob Simpson (Lorie), Kevin Nibert (Patricia) and Billy Pierson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Tracey Avgerinos, Frank Simpson and Linda Carter.

Though he may no longer be physically present with us, his spirit lives on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness and compassion. “Love You More”, “1, 3, 4” forever.
