James Truschke

Jim Truschke, 66, of Independence, MO passed away August 6, 2009 at his home. Jim was a retired attorney who practiced for many years in the Chicago area. In Kansas City, Jim enjoyed teaching law, golf, Boy Scouts, and volunteer work for Woods Chapel United Methodist Church and Hillcrest Ministries. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Truschke, and is survived by his wife of 33 years, Fern Truschke; children: Audrey Truschke and husband Thane Rehn of New York, NY and Billy Truschke of Columbia, MO; mother, Edna Truschke of Lee’s Summit, MO; sisters: Kathy Bart and husband Ed of California and Sandy Berger and husband Dave of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4-6:00 PM Tuesday, August 11 at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, 4725 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064. Memorial services will begin at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either Woods Chapel United Methodist Church Missions in care of the church, or Independence Hillcrest Transitional Housing Ministry, PO Box 408, Independence, MO 64051.
