William V. Tuckness, 87, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Rehabilitation Center of Independence. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. William was born August 26, 1922 in Springfield, MO to John and Loma (Dill) Tuckness. He had worked as a typewriter repairman for Underwood & Olivet Office Supply for a number of years before his retirement. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed fishing and going to the casinos. William was married to Josephine Forte in September 1952; she preceded him in death in October 2005. Survivors include; 2 sons, William Tuckness, Jr. of Raytown, MO and Robert Tuckness, Sr. of Independence, MO; 2 daughters, Marilyn Koons and Patricia Tuckness both of Independence, MO; a sister, Iona “Toots” Chandler of Springfield, MO; 5 grandchildren, Janelle Johnson, Johnnie W. Johnson, Christina Vigil, Robert Tuckness, Jr. and Anthony Moore; 5 great grandchildren, Johnnie Edward, Jeffrey, Grace, Riley and Trenton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Johnson on April 23, 1996, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
