Alice M. Turner was born May 8, 1925 in Ray County, Richmond, MO. She was the daughter of Clyde W. and Ollie G. (Leibold) O’Dell. Alice passed away May 12, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. On September 8, 1944 Alice was united in marriage to Charles L. Turner. They made their home in Sugar Creek, MO. He preceded her in death. Alice retired from AT&T. Throughout her life she enjoyed many activities including traveling, gardening, mushroom hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a very special and loving aunt. She leaves behind lots of broken and grieving hearts who will sadly miss her. She gave lots of love and fond memories to all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace our dear, you will forever be in our hearts.
Alice is survived by her two sons: Mark Turner of the home and Charles Dennis Turner and wife Kathy of Odessa, MO; grandchildren: Dana Thompson of Grain Valley, Tuesday (Turner) Gulick and husband Brad of Somerset, WI, Bradley Law, Nicole Law, and Tabitha Law of Maryville, MO; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister in-laws: Jean (Raymond) O’Dell and Dora (Robert V.) O’Dell of Richmond, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews. Alice is preceded in death by her parents Clyde W. and Ollie G. O’Dell; husband Charles Turner; daughter Tanya (Turner) Law; brothers: Robert V. O’Dell, Raymond G. O’Dell, Donald E. “Digger” O’Dell, and Wendell O’Dell; grandson Jamie Turner; grandson-in-law Jerry Thompson; and nephew Clint O’Dell.
A visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 PM Monday, May 17 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence. Services will begin at 1:30 PM Monday at the Chapel with burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery.
