Ruth Turpin

Ruth Turpin, 94, of Independence, MO passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Rosewood Health Center. A Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 PM, Saturday, January 26 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, with services beginning at 2:00 PM; burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Groves Community Hospice.
Ruth was born July 28, 1913 in Linn Creek, MO to Leslie and Mary Catherine (Risner) Walls. Throughout the years she worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant, Stephenson’s and Hill’s Floral Shop. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, and attending the First Baptist Church. Most of all Ruth loved her family and will be missed for her adventurous spirit and sense of humor.
Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Chester Anderson, one sister and one brother. She is survived by three sons: Clark Anderson and wife Esther, Ronnie Anderson, and Bill Turpin and wife Jana; daughter-in-law, Anne Anderson; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
